Gold Star

Yeovil Junior Netball Club have been nominated for a Gold Star Award. Chairman, Hollie Wright received the news this morning and said “This is brilliant news for the club and thank you for nominating us! It goes to show that our hard work and long hours pay off if the kids who play (and their parents) take the time to nominate us for a local award.”

YJNC have been nominated for Junior Sports Club/Team of the Year – A sports club or team that in the last 12 months has made significant progress, development or achievement at district, county, regional or national level.

In the coming months there will be a write up in the Western Gazette and the nominees will be shortlisted where upon they will be invited to attend the awards ceremony! Fingers crossed for YJNC!

The Gold Star Awards are being held for the third year as a partnership between the Western Gazette and South Somerset District Council.

They encapsulate the Western Gazette’s Young Stars initiative, run for the first time in 2012, and the council’s Gold Star Awards which have been running for several years to recognise unsung heroes of the community.

These awards really focus on the amazing feats of youngsters up to the age of 18. There are also a handful of awards to recognise adults who work with young people in a voluntary capacity.
