Yeovil Netball Club is a privacy conscious club and is strongly committed to your right to privacy. That is why we have drafted a privacy and data protection Statement, which follows guidelines set out in the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
Yeovil Netball Club’s use and storage of data
The General Data Protection Regulation states that those who record, and process personal information must be open about how the information is used and must follow the eight principles of proper information handling.
These principles state that data must be:
- Fairly and lawfully processes
- Processed for limited purposes
- Adequate, relevant and not excessive
- Accurate
- Not kept for longer than necessary
- Processed in line with your rights
- Secure and
- Personal data will not be transferred outside the European Economic area unless that country provides an adequate level of protection
- By law data controllers, including Yeovil Netball Club have to keep these principles

How does Yeovil Netball club collect data?
Yeovil Netball club will only collect your data through our registrations forms available on Google Forms or via paper copy. Information on these forms will be held at the Club Secretary’s House for the duration of the Netball season, to which they will be destroyed on the completion of the season, generally no longer than one year.
To enable the club to communicate effectively and efficiently with it’s members the use of an app named Teamer will include members’ email addresses and names. For more information on Teamer and its supporting privacy notice please visit https://teamer.net/privacy
England Netball also require the members of the Club to purchase membership via ENgage. The Club is also able to communicate with it’s members via this website. Details for membership will be collected by England Netball via ENgage such as members’ names, DOB, email addresses etc.
Data collected for Payment
Payment details are collected by the Club Treasurer at the start of the season and are forwarded to the bank to authorise payment of Club fees. No personal data is held by the Club Treasurer.
Information that passes to third party organisations?
Yeovil Netball Club may from time to time share your details with Somerset County Netball Association, SouthWest Netball, ENgage & England Netball. We have taken steps to ensure all third-party organisations are GDPR compliant.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have various rights with respect to our use of your personal data:
Rights to access
You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you by contacting Tonia Horgan – Data Protection Officer. We will respond to your request within one month. Please note that there are exceptions to this right
We may be unable to make all information available to you, if, for example making the information available would reveal personal data about another person. If we are legally prevented from disclosing such information, or if there is no basis for your request or it is excessive.
Right to rectification
We aim to keep your personal data accurate and complete. We encourage you to contact us to let us know if any of your personal data is not accurate or changes, so we can keep your personal data up-to-date.
Right to erasure
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data where, for example, the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes which they were collected, where you withdraw your membership, or your data has been unlawfully processed. If you would like to request that your data is erased, please contact the Data Protection Officer at ync.clubsecretary@gmail.com
Right to object
In certain circumstances you have the right to object to the processing of data, where by example, your personal data is being processed on the basis of legitimate interests and there is no overriding legitimate interest for us to continue to process your personal data, or if your data is being processed for direct marketing purposes. If you would like to object to the processing of your personal data, please contact the Data Protection Officer at ync.clubsecretary@gmail.com
Right to restricted processing
In certain circumstances, you have the right to request that we restrict the further processing of your personal data. This right arises where for example you have queried the accuracy of the personal data we hold about you and we are verifying the information, you have objected to processing based on legitimate interests and we are considering whether there are any overriding legitimate interests, or processing is unlawful, and you elect that processing is is restricted rather than deleted.
Right to data portability
In certain circumstances, you have the right to request that some of your personal data is provided to you, or to another data controller, in a commonly used machine-readable format. This right arises where you have provided your personal data to us, the processing is based on consent or the performance of a contract, and processing is carried out by automated means.
