U14 Regional  Yeovil v St Agnes

For the final match of the season Yeovil welcomed St Agnes from Cornwall.  The game started in a fast and furious fashion with both teams taking a while to settle into their play.  Unfortunately the opposition did that first and led 2-6 at quarter time.

Some tactical changes were made for the second quarter and that had an immediate affect on the possession on court with Yeovil causing several turnovers and interceptions leading to a run of goals and the score narrowing to 7-9 at half time.

Further changes by both sides saw a very tight quarter with neither side willing to give anything up.  There were some fantastic interceptions in the defensive end with the ball then passed down the court in a fast and accurate style finishing with a goal.   The quarter was tied and the scores moved on to 12-14.

The final quarter was very exciting with Yeovil playing in a determined way piling on the pressure and taking the lead.  With the supporters cheering, applauding, ooing and aahing, the girls tried to maintain the lead but it wasn’t to be.  St Agnes pulled it back and ended up winning by 2 goals.

Final score Yeovil 17 – 19 St Agnes.

This was a fantastic game to watch with end to end play, thrilling goals being scored and a real display of how much Yeovil have improved over the season.  Well done everyone!
