YNC v Paulton

An early and cold start for YNC on Sunday, but the players were raring to get the game underway.

Taking the first quarter to warm up and losing the first 8-5, Yeovil soon stepped it up a gear and created plenty of opportunities to turn over the ball and support each other to be successful in bringing the ball up the court . YNC showed Paulton their versatility and strength pulling away at the end of the match and winning the match 26-12.

Player of the match – Amy.

U14 Regional

YNC v Hucclecote

The team travelled to Gloucester for a rearranged fixture against Hucclecote. A lively start saw a close first quarter with the scores neck and neck until Hucclecote scored 3 in a row to lead 9-5 at the break.

With the opposition changing their team around every quarter, we had new players to deal with each time and in this quarter their defence proved to be too strong for us. Half time score 18-8.

Undeterred we came out fighting in the third quarter with lots of tips and clean interceptions which were successfully converted. At quarter time it was 25-14.

The final quarter showed some great defence with pressure being applied all through the court causing Hucclecote to make several errors. A low scoring quarter resulted in the final score being 30-15 win to Hucclecote.

Today’s play showed the players are all improving both in their individual skills and their team play.  Thanks to all the parents for their enthusiastic support. Well done everyone!

YNC v Tor A

The U12’s came out of the 1st centre full of determination and they won the 1st quarter 10-0. All players were defending their players closely and making lots of turnovers in the centre court. At half-time the score was 16-0. Tor woke up in the 3rd quarter and fought back managing to score 3 goals, but Yeovil still scored 5 and so had a larger lead. The team work and support each Yeovil player showed was outstanding, leading to a resounding win of 30-3.
